In 2014, two scholars with a passion for education embarked on an ambitious project. Amongst the crumbling public school system and overpriced private schools, they founded an affordable school offering a priceless bilingual education.

As international educational professionals, the founders both hold higher degrees in the pedagogic field. They also practiced extensively as teachers on four continents. The school they envision marks the culmination of decades of learning to teach, teaching to learn, and everything in between.
The school’s ethos is one of curiosity, critical thinking and a ceaseless love for learning. Renaissance scientist and humanist Nicolaus Copernicus is the perfect representation of these values - hence Copernicus International School. The logo we developed for the school, a classic asterisk, is a succinct symbol for Copernicus’ astronomic discoveries, which placed the sun at the center of our universe.
The asterisk also implies that there’s a footnote to every story, and that the quest for knowledge will continue as long as the earth revolves around the sun.
Equipped with a coherent brand design, a focused and intuitive visual language, and an attractive, informative online presence, CIS* is ready to open its gates in the fall of 2017. We’re looking forward to a truly international school in the heart of New York City.
